We Are a Third Space to find
Community & Connection in Ballard

Assembly is a cozy gathering place and a collaborative space for community to meet, featuring a coffee bar, an art gallery and event pop-ups. We recently re-opened under new ownership — former customers of Assembly who are happy to honor the original vision of the shop as a third space for the fine people of Ballard to build together.

A vision years in the making, Assembly was started by Molly Hawkins as an extension of Seattle based creative and marketing agency We Are Unicorns.

We continue to strive toward the goal to bring connection and community into a physical space through carefully curated selections of beans from the finest coffee roasters, teas from Smith Tea, exhibitions and workshops with artists, creators and community members.

• Coffee

  • At the heart of community is coffee and we are excited to have Olympia Coffee Roasters as our house roasting partner for all of our espresso drinks, in addition to a selection of bagged beans you can take home from our favorite specialty roasters.

• Tea

  • Our teas, including our matcha and chai, are brewed from a fine selection of teas from Smith Tea with rotating seasonal blends.

  • Our matcha is pure tencha made from leaves grown in Katsura in the Gifu prefecture of Japan.

• Art

  • Since Fall 2021 we have been participating in Ballard ArtWalk on the second Saturday of each month and our featured artists rotate frequently.

• Community & retail

  • We have subscriptions to newspapers to read in our shop.
